


The Pivot Brands Company is an innovation studio focused on consumer products.
To develop an online presence and digital footprint while driving online sales by featuring patented products sold exclusively through the online stores.
My role as a front-end engineer and UX designer entailed the development of branding and style guidelines, development of an ERD and sitemap based on the user journey, creation of lo-fidelity wireframes in Balsamiq, high-fidelity website layouts and prototypes in Photoshop, as well as front-end web development of site designs and re-designs. The themes that inspired the designs were concepts of fun and innovation. The HTML/CSS code was built on the React framework and Node.js.

I worked directly with the graphic designers and back-end engineers to build out each site from the ground up ensuring a mobile-friendly experience with responsive pages. We thoughtfully discussed the details of each site during our rapid prototyping sessions. In working with the back-end engineers, we were able to setup the React framework and proprietary order fullfillment process. I coded the HTML/CSS from concept to check-out. When analyzing the user experience, the sites were designed to highlight the importance of limiting user selection, having a clear call-to-action on the landing page and eliminating the number of clicks between pages. Additionally, we strategically added an email notification system for our high-volume products that have sold out of inventory with the intention of driving repeat business and customer traffic. A social media gamification component was also included to trigger customer engagement and reward brand loyalty.
